But now we have the opportunity to build from the ground up, and we\u00e2\u0080\u0099re going all out. Special is going to be the new norm and we\u00e2\u0080\u0099re so excited.\u00e2\u0080\u009d\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe new dining hall will offer options never before seen on Tech campus, such as a pho station (pronounced \u00e2\u0080\u009cfuh,\u00e2\u0080\u009d a type of Vietnamese noodle dish), build-your-own wok stir-frys and pasta, and a regular dim sum menu (a category of Chinese snacks, including dumplings and steamed buns).\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EOther stations will include more vegetarian and vegan options, and each will have pre-made Grab \u00e2\u0080\u0098n\u00e2\u0080\u0099 Go options. Each of the stations will be a presentation station, where students can watch the chefs prepare their meals. \u00e2\u0080\u009cThis dining hall doesn\u00e2\u0080\u0099t have limitations that older dining halls have,\u00e2\u0080\u009d said Martin. \u00e2\u0080\u009cWe\u00e2\u0080\u0099ve built this to allow us to do different things.\u00e2\u0080\u009d\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThis new design has given the Dining team the freedom to tackle an entirely new concept: Dining by Design. \u00e2\u0080\u009cThe whole layout has a modern, retail feel,\u00e2\u0080\u009d Martin explained. \u00e2\u0080\u009cEvery station is going to have its own brand.\u00e2\u0080\u009d Additionally, the entire building is being built to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards, and is scheduled to be both LEED Gold and Energy Star Certified. \u00e2\u0080\u009cWe\u00e2\u0080\u0099re using repurposed materials and will be incorporating composting, purchasing locally, and minimizing waste,\u00e2\u0080\u009d said Martin.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe menu at each of the stations will be on a four-week rotation, and students can suggest new recipes online via the recipe submissions page on \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.gatechdining.com\/\u0022\u003EGT Dining\u00e2\u0080\u0099s website\u003C\/a\u003E. The facility will also have extended hours, and is currently scheduled to be open 24 hours a day during the week. It will be open to all students with dining meals plans as well as guests and visitors too. \u00e2\u0080\u009cYou don\u00e2\u0080\u0099t have to live in North Avenue to use the dining hall,\u00e2\u0080\u009d explained Martin.
