Living Learning Communities: ThinkBig@Tech

Georgia Tech offers a comprehensive Living Learning program designed to promote resident engagement with Tech faculty through focused topics. The program affectionately referred to as "ThinkBig@Tech" is the buzz on campus. The program currently hosts six communities, where more than 200 residents are learning about everything from international issues to human alteration, while establishing relationships with other residents and faculty with similar interest.

Two Living Learning Programs have been a part of the Tech Residence Life area for several years and with much success. For the 2009-2010 academic year, four new communities were developed to add more variety, encourage more innovative thinking, and present unique learning experiences outside of the classroom to a growing base of interested students. As a bonus, participants have the opportunity to make real and meaningful connections with faculty members. These connections are nurtured through weekly coffee/social hours in residence hall lounges hosted by the ThinkBig faculty leaders and via the monthly outings and programs. Read more about the activities taking place in ThinkBig communities in this article featured in the Technique.

We are expanding the success of ThinkBig@Tech by offering the following programs for 2010-2011:
* Women, Science and Technology (WST)
* International Living and Learning Program (I-House)
* Humor and Innovation
* Human Augmentation: How Far is Too Far?
* Tech and Urban Outdoor Adventures
* LEGORobotics and Outreach Community
* Spanish Outreach & Service Learning
* Politics and World Affairs

Students will have the opportunity to sign up for a ThinkBig@Tech community when they apply for 2010-2011 housing in early spring. For more information, please visit the ThinkBig@Tech Web site.
