{"121131":{"#nid":"121131","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Second Annual TEDx Sheds Light on Campus Innovation","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003ETED (short for technology, entertainment and design) has gained traction nationally for making \u201cideas worth spreading\u201d by having those at the forefront of innovation give short presentations on their expertise and then making those presentations available online for the masses. For the second straight spring, students are bringing that idea to campus and hosting TEDxGeorgiaTech to spread the innovative ideas being conceived at the Institute.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe TEDx program is designed to bring the TED experience to local communities and enable them to organize events that emulate the larger-scale conferences.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cTEDx creates a platform for innovators and creators around the community. Though the event will not be live-streamed, all talks will be posted to the main \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/ted\u0022\u003ETED YouTube channel\u003C\/a\u003E after the event.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThis year\u2019s event is licensed for 150 attendees, up from 100 last year.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETEDxGeorgiaTech will take place Saturday, April 7, at the Academy of Medicine. Registration is $10 for undergraduate Tech students and $20 for all others. Those interested can submit a \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/tedxgeorgiatech.org\/?page_id=28\u0022\u003Erequest for registration online\u003C\/a\u003E at \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/tedxgeorgiatech.org\u0022\u003Etedxgeorgiatech.org\u003C\/a\u003E, and will be notified within a few days if there is room for them to attend.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETED enthusiasts can also participate in a viewing of TEDMED, a TED event focused on health science and medical innovation.
