126571 news 1335452870 1475896324 <![CDATA[Ashuri’s Paper receives Award of Excellence]]> Building Construction Assistant Professor Dr. Baabak Ashuri has recently received an award from the Emerald Literati Network for his paper on investment evaluation in toll road projects. The paper, titled “A Real Options Framework to Evaluate Investments in Toll Road Projects Delivered Under the Two-Phase Development Strategy” has been chosen as a Highly Commended Award Winner at the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2012. The paper was co-authored by Dr. Ashuri’s Ph.D. students, Mr. Jian Lu and Mr. Hamed Kashani, and was published in the journal Built Environment Project and Asset Management. Dr. Ashuri serves as Director of Economics of the Sustainable Built Environment and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Building Construction.


Every year Emerald invites each journal’s Editorial Team to nominate what they believe has been that title’s Outstanding Paper and up to three Highly Commended Papers from the previous 12 months. Dr. Ashuri’s paper has been chosen as a Highly Commended Award Winner at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2012.


The award winning papers are chosen following consultation amongst the journal’s Editorial Team, many of whom are eminent academics or managers. His paper has been selected as it was one of the most impressive pieces of work the team has seen throughout 2011.
