We are developing an instrument that will facilitate timely, low-cost identification of viral DNA\/RNA with fast thermocycling of 1 \u00b5L sample volumes within a microfluidic chip with independent thermal control of the reaction chambers.\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EAdam Prasanphanich - Advisor, Melissa Kemp, PhD\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0022Antioxidant Attenuation of TGF\u03b2-Induced Smad Transcriptional Activity\u0022\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EElevated reactive oxygen species (ROS) and aberrant transforming growth factor beta (TGF\u03b2) signaling are potent drivers of carcinogenesis and fibrogenesis. Antioxidants have been shown to reduce TGF\u03b2-mediated gene expression.
