Gey was the researcher who\u0026nbsp;grew cells taken from Henrietta Lacks in 1951, when she was treated for cervical cancer. The cells gave rise to the HeLa cell line,\u0026nbsp;understood to be \u0022immortal\u0022 because of their ability to infinitely reproduce outside the body. Currently, Pattillo is Professor of Gynecology\u0026nbsp;at Morehouse School of Medicine.
