  <body><![CDATA[<p><strong><br /></strong></p><p><strong>2013 PhD Assistantship in Sustainable Local Economic Development Planning</strong></p><p>The PhD Program of Georgia Tech's School of City and Regional Planning is pleased to announce a three year research assistantship, beginning Fall 2013, with a focus on multiple aspects of sustainable local economic development&nbsp;planning in the U.S.&nbsp; The research may also incorporate comparative analyses between the U.S. and other countries depending on the successful applicant’s interests.&nbsp; The assistantship covers tuition and a stipend. &nbsp;A master's degree in planning is required.&nbsp; Information about the PhD program and general admission requirements may be found at:&nbsp; <a href="http://www.planning.gatech.edu/academics/phd/overview">http://www.planning.gatech.edu/academics/phd/overview</a></p><p>A separate 250 word essay outlining the applicant's research interests in sustainable local economic development must be submitted&nbsp;to the PhD program director after completing the on-line application process for the PhD Program. &nbsp;For more information, prospective Ph.D.&nbsp;students should contact Professor Nancey Green Leigh at:&nbsp; <a href="mailto:ngleigh@gatech.edu">ngleigh@gatech.edu</a>.</p>]]></body>
