College of Architecture Seeking New Dean

Alan Balfour has announced that he will step down as dean of the College of Architecture at the end of the 2012-2013 academic year. Dean Balfour’s tenure as dean has been marked by many accomplishments and successes. The College is now seeking a successor. A new Dean Search Advisory Committee has carefully designed a process to ensure that its national search will identify and recruit the very best candidates for this critical leadership role.

The website http://provost.gatech.edu/dean-architecture describes the search timeline and includes information about the individuals who are serving on the Search Advisory Committee.

The Institute has also retained the services of R. William (Bill) Funk, a lauded higher education consultant with an impressive track record of helping universities around the country attract outstanding new leaders. Mr. Funk has helped the following universities: Georgia Tech, Cornell University, University of Virginia, Syracuse University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Tulane University, Purdue University, Boston University and many others. If you would like to make a nomination, please contact one of the search committee members or forward your correspondence to Mr. Funk via email: krisha.creal@rwilliamfunk.com.

<!-- Disquisition: it's funny how I write these TODOs and then never
revisit them. It's as though the act of writing the thing down frees me
