We look at the specific function of PNNs in the rodent barrel cortex and how this and other studies have begun to question this model.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u0022A Single Cell Approach to Analysis of Heterogeneity Within Immune Cell Populations\u0022\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003ELinda Kippner\u003Cbr \/\u003EAdvisor, Melissa Kemp, PhD\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EA growing body of evidence shows that even genetically identical cells can be phenotypically heterogeneous, and that this can have functional consequences. We theorize that such non-genetic differences affect immune function and use emerging techniques for single cell analyses to detect such heterogeneity in immune cell populations.
