But don\u2019t turn your tassel without taking advantage of what Tech can offer you long after you\u2019re gone from the grounds.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EOnce you leave, the services provided by the Office of Information Technology change, but not everything goes away. You will always be a Yellow Jacket, but you\u2019ll be a former student when you have not registered for two consecutive terms. After that, some \u2014 but not all \u2014 online resources will no longer be available to you.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHere is an overview of what you lose, what you keep, and what your alumni status may provide after graduation.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Ch2\u003EWhat You Keep\u003C\/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EYour Georgia Tech account will always remain active so you can access certain systems, and, even when you are no longer a student, your password will not expire. Here are some resources that will be available to you for life:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/passport.gatech.edu\u0022\u003EPassPort (the Personal Account Self Service Portal)\u003C\/a\u003E:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;This site allows you to manage your Georgia Tech account, control your alias (EMFL), manage your hints, and change your password if needed.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/buzzport.gatech.edu\u0022\u003EBuzzPort\u003C\/a\u003E:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;Through BuzzPort, former students are able to maintain access to the Student Information System (OSCAR) to obtain transcripts, for example.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/tsquare.gatech.edu\u0022\u003ET-Square\u003C\/a\u003E:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;Former students continue to have partial access to Tech\u2019s course management and collaboration system, T-Square.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Ch2\u003EWhat You Lose\u003C\/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EYou will be notified via email before losing access to services such as:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/lawn.gatech.edu\u0022\u003ELAWN (wireless network)\u003C\/a\u003E:\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003EThe wireless network is unavailable to former students. For more information about LAWN, visit lawn.gatech.edu.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.prism.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EPrism\u003C\/a\u003E (2 GB cloud storage on Georgia Tech servers): \u003C\/strong\u003EIf you have stored files on Prism, including any Prism public websites you\u2019ve created, be sure to relocate any work you want to keep. You will no longer be able to log in to my.gatech.edu or mail.gatech.edu. Any email you wish to keep should be saved or downloaded from MyGaTech to your own resource before your access expires.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003EFormer students who are in good standing with the Institute, however, have the option of receiving Email Forwarding for Life (EMFL). EMFL does not provide you with a mailbox within the Georgia Tech email system, but it does allow you to keep your Georgia Tech email alias (the @gatech.edu address), which will then forward messages on to any other valid email address. In order to set this up, visit \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/faq.oit.gatech.edu\/content\/what-e-mail-forwarding-life\u0022\u003Ethis FAQ for assistance\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EEven if you already have been forwarding your email using your Georgia Tech alias, please log in to \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/passport.gatech.edu\u0022\u003EPassPort\u003C\/a\u003E and make sure that your Georgia Tech mailbox address (the @mail.gatech.edu address) is removed from your alias delivery. Otherwise, anyone emailing you after MyGaTech expires will receive an \u201cundelivered\u201d reply, even though the message is still forwarded to you.
