Spring 2014 in Europe? Mais Oui!

Your freshman son or daughter can indeed spend a semester at Georgia Tech’s satellite campus in the heart of Europe as early as this spring. Georgia Tech-Lorraine (GTL), located in beautiful Metz, France has been educating Georgia Tech students for more than 20 years.

GTL is the largest international campus of Georgia Tech. It has an established track record of excellence in education and research. More than 3,000 students have studied at GTL since it was established in 1990. Georgia Tech courses are taught in English, primarily by Georgia Tech faculty. Students register through Oscar and pay through the Bursar’s office.

Outside of this there are big differences.

Tuition: Out-of-state students pay in-state tuition, plus $2,500, which represents a cost savings of nearly $7,000 per semester

Small Class Size: We send about 120 students per semester, so by virtue of the size of the student body, the classes are very small, compared to the same courses taught at the Atlanta campus.

Individualized Attention: Students have a rare opportunity to get to know their professors, and get much more individualized attention. They often end up doing better academically there than in Atlanta.

Private Dorm Rooms: Those who experience Georgia Tech’s dorms are pleasantly surprised by the dorms at Georgia Tech-Lorraine—every student gets his or her own private room, almost always with a private bath.

Three-Day Weekends: We never schedule classes on Fridays, to allow students continuous opportunities to travel all over Europe, which we consider a crucial aspect of the overall experience.

In fact, many students chose Georgia Tech for the opportunity to study at Georgia Tech-Lorraine. And they never regret it. The students return, transformed, and often say that it represents the best part of their entire Georgia Tech experience.

Application deadline is October 4. Click here for more information including how to apply.
