  <body><![CDATA[<p>This 2-day Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) workshop led by Dr. Jason Borenstein consists of four one-hour sessions.&nbsp; To register for a session through OSP Training, click on the links below:</p><p><strong>Day 1 (September 17)</strong>:&nbsp;</p><p>11:00 am - 12:00 pm&nbsp; <a href="http://training.osp.gatech.edu/courses/?ee=345">Authorship</a></p><p>12:00 - 1:00 pm&nbsp; <a href="http://training.osp.gatech.edu/courses/?ee=346">Human Subjects Research</a></p><p><strong>DAY 2 (September 18)</strong>:</p><p>11:00 am - 12:00 pm&nbsp; <a href="http://training.osp.gatech.edu/courses/?ee=347">Research Misconduct</a></p><p>12:00 - 1:00 pm&nbsp; <a href="http://training.osp.gatech.edu/courses/?ee=348">Science and Engineering in Society </a></p><p><strong>Frequently Asked Questions:</strong></p><p><strong>Q: Who should attend this Workshop?</strong> <br />A:&nbsp; The OSP RCR Workshop is intended for doctoral students admitted <strong>prior to Fall 2011</strong>, master’s students, undergraduate students, and postdoctoral researchers who are or have been funded by NSF or NIH projects that have a <strong>Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training Compliance requirement**.</strong></p><p><strong>Q:&nbsp; Why should I attend this Workshop?</strong> <br />A:&nbsp; <a href="http://www.osp.gatech.edu/forms/GT_RCR.pdf">The GT RCR Compliance Policy</a> requires students and postdocs funded by certain NSF or NIH projects** to complete in-person RCR training.&nbsp; This training is a condition of the award and is a GT deliverable.</p><p><strong>Q:&nbsp; How much RCR in-person "credit" will I receive?&nbsp;</strong></p><p>A:&nbsp; Each of these workshop sessions satisfies one hour of the requirement **.&nbsp; Applicable students and postdocs who are unable to complete the entire four hour workshop may attend individual one hour sessions.&nbsp; However, they must accumulate the remaining in-person training hours through other institutional approved means as specified by the <a href="http://researchintegrity.gatech.edu/forms/GT_RCR.pdf">GT RCR Compliance Policy</a>.</p><p><strong>Q:&nbsp; What about doctoral students admitted Fall 2011 or later?</strong></p><p>A:&nbsp;&nbsp; This workshop does NOT satisfy the in-person training requirement of the GT RCR Academic Policy which applies to all new doctoral students admitted Fall 2011 or later.&nbsp; If a current doctoral student has already satisfied the requirements of the <a href="http://www.rcr.gatech.edu/doctoral-policy/">RCR Academic Policy for Doctoral Students </a>(e.g., attended PHIL 6000), then further in-person RCR training is not required.</p><p><strong>For more information</strong>, contact Judy Willis (<a href="mailto:judy.willis@gatech.edu">judy.willis@gatech.edu</a>) or Jason Borenstein (<a href="mailto:borenstein@gatech.edu">borenstein@gatech.edu</a>) or see the <a href="http://www.rcr.gatech.edu/resources/">GT RCR website</a>.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>** Applicable NSF projects require 4 hours of in-person training; applicable NIH projects require 8 hours.&nbsp; (Applicable projects are flagged with the RCR/Ethics Training requirement in the OSP Contract Information System.)</p>]]></body>
