237551 event 1379328291 1475892286 <![CDATA[Faculty Panel Discussion: What Does Georgia Tech Think About Open Access?]]> In recent months, Open Access has emerged at the forefront of campus and national scientific research news. Georgia Tech recently passed a campus-wide Open Access policy, which grants Tech authors the ability to make a copy of their article openly available in a repository such as SMARTech. In February of 2013, the White House released a memo directing Federal Agencies to require funded publications be made available Open Access. There are still many diverse opinions among Tech faculty on the Institute policy, the perceived benefits of Open Access, and the future of scholarly and research publications. 

At the What Does Georgia Tech Think About Open Access faculty panel discussion, faculty researchers will tackle open access from all sides of the issue.
