You can\u2019t predict when an emergency will occur on campus \u2014 but when it does, you\u2019ll need to know who to call and what to do.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThat\u2019s why a new app from Georgia Tech Police Department\u2019s Office of Emergency Preparedness is so handy. \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cEveryone seems to be carrying a smartphone of some kind,\u201d said Andy Altizer, director of Emergency Preparedness. \u201cWith this app, it\u2019s simple to have emergency plans at your fingertips.\u201d \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe free In Case of Crisis app (education version) is available for both Apple and Android devices and provides Institute procedures for situations including: \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EBomb threats.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EChemical spills.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EFires.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EA shooter on campus.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ETornado warning.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe app also features a list of emergency contact information, a flashlight, and an emergency siren.
