The Committee recently published a symposium report entitled \u003Cem\u003EStrengthening American Manufacturing:\u0026nbsp;The Role of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership \u003C\/em\u003E(\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.nap.edu\/catalog.php?record_id=18329\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003Ehttp:\/\/www.nap.edu\/catalog.php?record_id=18329\u003C\/a\u003E).The document is a\u0026nbsp;summary of a symposium convened to review current operations and recent US Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP)\u0026nbsp;initiatives within the context of the global manufacturing marketplace. The Committee\u2019s full panel report will be published by the National Academies later this year.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ESapira\u0027s interests encompass science and technology policy, economic and regional development, innovation management and policy, industrial competitiveness, technology trajectories and assessment, innovation measurement, and policy evaluation. He currently directs research programs on nanotechnology research and innovation systems assessment \u0026nbsp;(as part of the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.cspo.org\/projects\/nanotechnology\/\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003ECenter for Nanotechnology in Society CNS-ASU \u003C\/a\u003E) and on organizational influences on highly creative scientific research.
