In fact, the U.S. logistics sector is expected to create more than one million job openings between 2013 and 2016, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Yet, a significant gap exists between the skills logistics companies need, and those today's college graduates bring to the table.

Many employees in the transport sector have medium or low qualification levels, according to the PwC report, and the sector's need for better-educated workers is increasing.
