  <title><![CDATA[Auslander Participates in Rencontres Recherche et Création]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.iac.gatech.edu/faculty-and-staff/faculty/bio/auslander">Philip Auslander</a>, professor in the <strong>School of Literature, Media, and Communication</strong>, was invited to address the relationship between the concepts of <em>theater</em> and <em>performance </em>at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.recherche-creation-avignon.fr/" target="_blank">Rencontres Recherche et Cr&eacute;ation</a>, a two-day event in Avignon, France, held in conjunction with the famous theater festival, le Festival D&#39;Avignon and co-sponsored by the French Agence Nationale de la Recherche.</p>

<p>&nbsp;In addition, Auslander&#39;s essay &quot;Surrogate Performances: Performance Documentation and the New York Avant-garde, ca. 1964-74&quot; was published online by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis in <em>On Performance</em>, the first volume of its <em>Living Collections Catalogue</em>, supported by the Getty Foundations Online Scholarly Catalogue Initiative. Auslander&#39;s contribution is currently being featured on the Walker&#39;s home page as a &quot;Top Story&quot; at <a href="http://www.walkerart.org" target="_blank">http://www.walkerart.org</a>.</p>
