Richard Blanco: Arts and Engineering

In this conversation with Georgia Tech students, poet and engineer Richard Blanco, who spoke at President Obama's second inauguration, shares insights about his journey to becoming a world-famous poet and civil engineer. Only the fifth inaugural poet, Blanco joined the ranks of literary giants such as Maya Angelou and Robert Frost. As the homosexual son of immigrant parents, his complex and inspiring poetry is reflective of the challenges that he has overcome on his way to success. The event is hosted by the Association of Environmental Engineers and Scientists; lunch is provided courtesy of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
