The scholarships are funded by alumnus William W. \u201cBill\u201d George, IE 1964, who was not able to study abroad during his time at Tech and wants to afford students the opportunity he never had.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u201cIt\u2019s important that all Georgia Tech graduates become global citizens and understand how business, commerce, engineering, and science work around the globe,\u201d George said. Expanding Tech\u2019s global footprint and graduating good global citizens is also part of Tech\u2019s strategic plan.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe deadline to apply is Oct. 15. Those interested can apply online.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIn addition to the George scholarships, the Office of International Education administers several other funding opportunities for students looking to go abroad. Award amounts and submission requirements vary by scholarship.
