Spring Career Fair Breaks Attendance Record

Corporate demand for College of Computing talent hit an all-time high at last week’s Spring Career Fair.

More than 100 companies attended the three-day event to discuss full-time positions internships, mentorships, and other career opportunities with Georgia Tech computing students. The Career Fair was hosted by the College of Computing from Tuesday to Thursday, Jan. 27 to Friday, Jan. 29. It was extended from its usual two days to three because of growing corporate interest.

“Our students are highly sought after by prospective employers. Most of them have two or even three job offers before they graduate,” said Dean Zvi Galil of the College of Computing. “The Career Fair is an excellent opportunity for our corporate partners and other prospective employers to attract top-quality computing talent to their workforces.”

The College’s Office of Outreach, Enrollment and Community (OEC) plans and manages the event twice annually. Prior to the fair, OEC hosts a variety of career development sessions with corporate partners to prepare students for the event. Such programs occur throughout the academic year and can be found on the College Events Calendar.

A photo gallery from the Spring Career Fair is available on Flickr.

A video from the Career Fair is also available on the GT Computing Facebook page.

<!-- Disquisition: it's funny how I write these TODOs and then never
revisit them. It's as though the act of writing the thing down frees me
