Shatakshee Dhongde, Assistant Professor in the School of Economics, was the recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award. The award recognizes one full-time faculty member and one temporary instructor at the Ivan Allen College and was announced at the Ivan Allen College Day celebrations on April 7, 2015. Amanda Figeredo, representative of Student Advisory Board, described Professor Dhongde as follows: "Dr. Shatakshee Dhongde is a professor whose passion and energy in the classroom are unrivaled. Having been one of her students, I can attest to her infectious enthusiasm for the course material which created a classroom environment full of engaged learners. She has earned the love and respect of her students because she genuinely cares about each and every one of them - taking the time to learn every name and answer every question. She challenges her students to aim high, and does everything she can to help them succeed.”]]>
