Oakes Professor Dr. Vigor Yang has been chosen to receive the prestigious\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.asme.org\/about-asme\/get-involved\/honors-awards\/literature-awards\/worcester-reed-warner-medal\u0022\u003EWorcester Reed Warner Medal\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;for \u0022outstanding contributions to the permanent literature of engineering.\u0022\u0026nbsp;An ASME Fellow since 2001, Yang will officially receive the Medal at\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.asmeconferences.org\/Congress2014\/index.cfm\u0022\u003EASME\u0027s 2014 International Congress \u0026amp;\u0026nbsp;Exposition\u003C\/a\u003E, to be held in November in Montreal.\u003Cp\u003EPast receipients of this honor include the most respected scions of the field, such as Igor Sikorsky, Hans Leipmann, Ascher H. Shapiro, Victor L. Streeter, O. C. Zienkiewicz, and Tom Hughes.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0022Dr. Yang has clearly established himself as a major contributor to the combustion and propulsion literature,\u0022 said AE\u0027s Dr. Timothy Lieuwen of his colleague.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0022The Worcester Reed Warner Medal clearly recognizes something that we see every day:\u0026nbsp;Dr. Yang has an unparalleled commitment to the future of the field.\u0022\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EIn addition to a long and prestigious career in teaching, Yang has always maintained a robust presence in scientific publishing, where he has published 10 books and served on the editorial advisory boards of virtually every journal in the fields of combustion, propulsion, and energetics.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EHe currently serves as AIAA\u0027s vice president for publications and as the co-editor of the Aerospace Book Series of Cambridge University Press.
