Harrington\u2019s responsibilities at Tech will include overseeing the Campus Recreation Center, Stamps Health Services, and Health Promotion.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p5\u0022\u003E\u201cI love the commitment Georgia Tech has made to the health and well-being of its students and employees,\u201d Harrington said. \u201cI am very impressed with the caliber of people who currently support community health and well-being and the services provided. I look forward to working together to take Georgia Tech\u2019s mental, physical, emotional, social, and professional wellness to the next level.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p5\u0022\u003EPrior to her time at Oklahoma State, Harrington directed the Department for Health, Safety, and Wellness for the American Nurses Association and was an adjunct professor. She began her career as a nurse with the U.S. Air Force and has served in nursing and administrative roles with various government and health care organizations.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p5\u0022\u003EHarrington earned her bachelor\u2019s degree in nursing from Angelo State, a master\u2019s degree in health services from California College for Health Sciences, and a doctor of nursing practice from Rush University. Her doctoral program included a concentration in health care business and leadership with a focus on health promotion and population health. \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p5\u0022\u003E\u201cSuzy brings the passion and leadership that Tech needs in this newly created position,\u201d said Paul Strouts, vice president of Campus Services. \u201cHer experience will be critical in helping define the new organization and in aligning people, programs, and funding for maximum effectiveness.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p5\u0022\u003EThe Center for Community Health and Wellbeing was established in January of this year to create a holistic and inclusive approach to campus wellness.
