A significant feature of the\nredesigned site includes robust search capabilities allowing courses to be\nlocated by title, keywords, subject, instructor, location, date and format (onsite\nor online). \u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EAccording to Bill Holm, associate\nvice provost for Georgia Tech Distance Learning and Professional Education, the\nnew site is designed to meet the needs of professionals and organizations\ninterested in taking advantage of career-advancing educational opportunities.\n\u201cIn today\u2019s business environment, professionals are truly time-starved and\nsimply don\u2019t have the time to browse the variety of rich programming and\ncourses we offer. We concluded that the way to address their needs was to build\na powerful search feature that enables them to quickly examine the\nopportunities to identify the best options to help them advance their careers.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EResearch\nplayed a significant role in the redesign and ensured that the most important\ncustomer needs were met. Synaxis, a national strategic marketing, branding and\ntechnology firm, was selected for the Web site redesign. In conjunction with\nassociates at Georgia Tech\u2019s Distance Learning and Professional Education,\nSynaxis conducted both qualitative and quantitative research among\nprofessionals from a wide range of industries. In addition to focus groups and\nonline surveys, visual designs were tested, and many of the insights were\nincorporated into the final site.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\n\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/em\u003E\u201cWe pride\nourselves on offering outstanding programs taught by accomplished educators who\nbring tremendous practical industry experience to each course,\u201d added Holm. \u0026nbsp;\u201cWe are confident that we deliver outstanding\nvalue to professionals seeking to advance their careers and to organizations\ncommitted to enhancing their employees\u2019 skills, and we did not want to present\nour curriculum without more insight into our customers\u2019 needs.
