In ultrasound imaging catheter applications, gathering the data from large number of element transducer arrays is extremely challenging with standard interconnect and transducer technology as there is a restriction on cable count due to the diameter of the catheter. This research work explores the design of the CMOS receiver circuitry which implements a Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) scheme to address the receive cable restrictions of the catheter and, using a direct digital demultiplexing technique, allow for a reduction in the number of analog signal processing stages required. We also explore an on chip programmable transmit beamformer circuit which can reduce the cable requirement for producing focused beams.\u003C\/p\u003E","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":"","field_summary":"","field_summary_sentence":[{"value":"ECE Proposal Oral Exam"}],"uid":"28475","created_gmt":"2016-03-03 18:20:54","changed_gmt":"2016-10-08 02:16:52","author":"Daniela Staiculescu","boilerplate_text":"","field_publication":"","field_article_url":"","field_event_time":{"event_time_start":"2016-03-14T12:00:00-04:00","event_time_end":"2016-03-14T12:00:00-04:00","event_time_end_last":"2016-03-14T12:00:00-04:00","gmt_time_start":"2016-03-14 16:00:00","gmt_time_end":"2016-03-14 16:00:00","gmt_time_end_last":"2016-03-14 16:00:00","rrule":null,"timezone":"America\/New_York"},"extras":[],"groups":[{"id":"434371","name":"ECE Ph.D. Proposal Oral Exams"}],"categories":[],"keywords":[{"id":"1808","name":"graduate students"},{"id":"102851","name":"Phd proposal"}],"core_research_areas":[],"news_room_topics":[],"event_categories":[{"id":"1788","name":"Other\/Miscellaneous"}],"invited_audience":[{"id":"78771","name":"Public"}],"affiliations":[],"classification":[],"areas_of_expertise":[],"news_and_recent_appearances":[],"phone":[],"contact":[],"email":[],"slides":[],"orientation":[],"userdata":""}}}
