I will describe techniques for using artificial intelligence to create interactive narrative experiences in virtual worlds. I will discuss \u0026nbsp;how these experiences can foster engagement and support educational and training.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp class=\u0022p1\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EBio:\u003C\/strong\u003E Dr. Mark Riedl is an Associate Professor in the Georgia Tech School of Interactive\u0026nbsp;Computing and director of the Entertainment Intelligence Lab. Dr. Riedl\u2019s research\u0026nbsp;focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, virtual worlds, and storytelling. The\u0026nbsp;principle research question his lab addresses is: how can intelligent computational\u0026nbsp;systems reason about and create engaging experiences for users of virtual worlds and\u0026nbsp;computer games. His research is supported by the NSF, DARPA, ONR, the U.S. Army,\u0026nbsp;U.S. Health and Human Services, Disney, and Google.
