<value>
Timothy Harrison’s current work stems from his experience as a practicing architect and designer, as well as his interest in the evolution of the profession. As design instructor, he incorporates ethical issues into design thinking. In the past this has taken the form of engaging students in “real world” client interactions, developing best practices in leadership and communication, conducting community charrettes, and engaging non-profits as clients. This interest in ethics has also led to a deep questioning of sustainability as currently practiced, examining the history, theory, and philosophy of sustainable design, and using this questioning as a basis for the Critical Positions seminar in the graduate program.

Press

As Senior Project Architect with Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects:
Lulu Chow Wang Campus Center
Architectural Record, “Wang Campus Center, Massachusetts,” July 2006
Jean Gray Hargrove Music Library
Architecture, “Night and Day,” December 2004
Herman Miller Cherokee Operations
Architectural Record, "MSME Mediates Between the Man-made and the Natural," November 2002
Architectural Record, “Drain It Right: Wetlands for Managing Runoff,” August 2001
Lee B.
