He is also theBayer (Covestro) Chair Professor at the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP)- Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development in Shanghai. He directs the \u003Cem\u003ESino\u2013U.S. Eco Urban Lab\u003C\/em\u003E at Georgia Tech and Tongji University\u003Cem\u003E. \u003C\/em\u003EPerry\u2019s work focuses on promoting the ecological and energy performance of cities through urban design.He has been awarded prizes in international competitions continuously, including the \u003Cem\u003E2009 World Games Park\u003C\/em\u003E at Kaohsiung Taiwan in 2005, a project opened in July 2009 and featured by CNN as \u201can eco-friendly venue\u201d. He founded \u003Cem\u003EESD (Eco Systems Design Studio)\u003C\/em\u003E, an urban design practice from 2005 in Singapore. His urban design work was featured in the January 2010 issue \u003Cem\u003EEcological Urbanism at WA\u003C\/em\u003E (\u003Cem\u003EWorld Architecture)\u003C\/em\u003E. Yang received degrees from National Taiwan University (Ph.D., M.Sc., B.Sc.) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MS) and was a Fulbright Scholar at MIT in 1999-2000. Prior to joining the Georgia Tech faculty, he was assistant professor at National University of Singapore. He is a board member of the \u003Cem\u003EInternational Urban Planning and Environment Association (UPE)\u003C\/em\u003E, and served as co-chair of \u003Cem\u003EUPE9\u003C\/em\u003E in 2010. As an international scientific committee member of \u003Cem\u003EInternational Conference on Applied Energy (ICAE)\u003C\/em\u003E, Perry chaired the session \u003Cem\u003EUrban Energy Systems Design\u003C\/em\u003E at the ICAE in March 2015 at Abu Dhabi.
