Nerem International Travel Award for predoctoral students has been awarded to Mr. David Dumbauld, a Ph.D. student in Prof. Andr\u00e9s Garcia\u0027s lab.  David will use the award to study with Prof. Benjamin Geiger, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel, later this year.  His focus area of study will be the \u0022Role of Vinculin in Cell Adhesion Strengthening Response.\u0022\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe award was established by colleagues and friends of Bob Nerem in honor of his lifelong contributions to the field of bioengineering and his dedication to the Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience.  The Nerem Travel Award is given annually to assist doctoral students in traveling outside the U.S. as part of their research training.  The award consists of up to $2500 to support travel and living expenses.
