56970 news 1273449600 1475895975 <![CDATA[Tentzeris to Receive IEEE CPMT Best Paper Award]]> Manos Tentzeris and his co-authors have been named the recipients of the 2009 Best Paper Award from the IEEE Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology Society.

Their paper entitled, “Effect of Permittivity and Permeability of a Flexible Magnetic Composite Material on the Performance and Miniaturization Capability of Planar Antennas for RFID and Wearable Wireless Applications,” was published in volume 32, issue number 4 of the IEEE Transactions on Components and Packaging Technologies.

Dr. Tentzeris' co-authors are Regents’ Professor C.P. Wong and Research Engineer Daniela Staiculescu, both of the School of Materials Science and Engineering; Lara Martin, a Georgia Tech Ph.D. graduate who now works with Motorola; Sooliam Ooi, of Blackberry (Research in Motion); and Michael D. Hill, of Trans-Tech, Inc. The team will receive this award at the 60th Electronic Components and Technology Conference, which will be held June 1-4 in Las Vegas.

Dr. Tentzeris has been a faculty member in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech since 1998.
