<p>Born in 1947 in Stuttgart, Wilfried Prewo lived in the United States from 1969 to 1978, where he received his B.A. in Economics from Grinnell College and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University. From 1974 to 1978, he was Assistant Professor at the University of Texas in Austin. From 1978 until 1983, after returning to Germany, he was Division Chief at the Kiel Institute of World Economics. Prior to assuming his current position in 1985, he was the Regional Director for a financial services company.
</p>
<p>The Hannover Chamber of Industry and Commerce has a membership of 140,000 firms and belongs to the five largest of Germany's 80 chambers. It focuses on international business and vocational training, two areas which it considers vital for Germany's success in a globalizing world economy.
