Weidner Summer for Undergraduates Program","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThis program brings to campus undergraduate students from throughout the country for a month-long immersion into legal study. The largest and oldest of its kind, the primary goal of the program is to acquaint students with the study of law and to assist them in acquiring skills that will benefit their undergraduate and future law school studies.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EParticipants take daily classes taught by law professors, attend academic and professional development workshops, and take field trips to area courts and law firms during the four weeks.\u0026nbsp; There is no fee to apply or program expenses, except transportation to and from Tallahassee (for which a $500 stipend at the end of the program is provided).\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EOverview\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe 2017 Donald J. Weidner Summer for Undergraduates Program will take place\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003EMay 15 through June 8, 2017\u003C\/strong\u003E.\u0026nbsp;During the four-week program, students are engaged in activities covering\u0026nbsp;three primary areas:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cem\u003EClassroom Experience\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u0026mdash; Daily classes are taught by\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.law.fsu.edu\/our-faculty\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003Elaw school professors and writing instructors\u003C\/a\u003E. Lectures simulate first-year law classes and familiarize students with the functions of the American legal system. Writing workshops help students to develop their writing and communication skills.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ELaw School Admissions Process\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/em\u003E\u0026mdash; Students are given the opportunity to talk to the\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.law.fsu.edu\/admissions\/contact\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003Eadmissions staff\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;and committee regarding the important aspects of the law school application process.
