{"589672":{"#nid":"589672","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Bell, Taylor Join College of Computing Advisory Board","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EWhen the College of Computing Advisory Board convenes this week for its spring meeting, it will welcome two new members who will help guide the College\u0026rsquo;s path forward.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMark Bell, managing principal at the investment management firm Diversified Trust, and Patrick Taylor, chief executive officer of the software firm Oversight Systems Inc., have joined the Advisory Board for three-year terms.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAt \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.diversifiedtrust.com\/\u0022\u003EDiversified Trust\u003C\/a\u003E, Bell has primary responsibility for business development and client relationship management.\u0026nbsp;He previously served as chief investment officer and a managing director for BlueArc Capital Management, an alternative asset manager for family offices, where he remains a director.\u0026nbsp;Bell began his career with McKinsey \u0026amp; Co. and subsequently was director of strategy at D.E. Shaw \u0026amp; Co. In 2007, he led a $200 million recapitalization for The Brand Banking Company as well as other initiatives with Brand Group Holdings.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EBell is a bachelor\u0026rsquo;s graduate of Stanford University and went on to earn his Ph.D and master\u0026rsquo;s degrees from Oxford University, where he was a Marshall Scholar.\u0026nbsp;He is also the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship and has been named to Atlanta and Georgia\u0026rsquo;s \u0026ldquo;40 Under 40\u0026rdquo; by both the \u003Cem\u003EAtlanta Business Chronicle\u003C\/em\u003E and \u003Cem\u003EGeorgia Trend\u003C\/em\u003E magazine, respectively.\u0026nbsp;Currently, Bell serves as an adjunct professor and senior research fellow at the Center for Alternative Investments in Emory University\u0026rsquo;s Goizueta Business School.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETaylor is an authority in the convergence of business analytics, information security and the implementation of technology to boost organizational performance. He launched \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.oversightsystems.com\/\u0022\u003EOversight Systems\u003C\/a\u003E to provide executives and business managers with clear, actionable insights from a sea of otherwise insurmountable data. The company currently analyzes more than $2 trillion worth of business transactions each year.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EPreviously, Taylor held leading positions with many notable groups such as Internet Security Systems (ISS), Symantec, ORACLE, Red Brick Systems, GO, Air2Web, and Fast-Talk. An avid Yellow Jackets fan, he holds a bachelor\u0026rsquo;s in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech, as well as an MBA from the Harvard Business School.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;We are honored to welcome such distinguished business professionals as Mark and Patrick to the College of Computing Advisory Board,\u0026rdquo; said Zvi Galil, John P.
