This was a prime experience for the students, who are studying industrial engineering and supply chain and are looking to gain insights on U.S. company practices and culture.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe students kicked off their study with focused time from \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.isye.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech ISyE\u003C\/a\u003E department heads in key areas including: Transportation and Port Logistics, the Physical Internet, Global Logistics, Health and Humanitarian Services, and they also visited several \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.robotics.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EIRIM\u003C\/a\u003E robotics labs.\u0026nbsp;The students then visited a stellar lineup of companies with their leadership in Georgia including Coca-Cola, UPS, Delta, Porsche, Americold, and The Home Depot. They also spent time at the Port of Savannah with leadership from the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.gaports.com\/\u0022\u003EGeorgia Ports Authority\u003C\/a\u003E, including a tour of the operations which recently received the largest container ship to-date.\u0026nbsp;The students participated in the annual \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.georgia.org\/business-resources\/georgia-centers-of-innovation\/center-innovation-logistics\/georgia-logistics-summit\/\u0022\u003EGeorgia Logistics Summit\u003C\/a\u003E, and further learned about supply chain successes and logistics innovations, along with 1,400 fellow logistics professionals!\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFrom Professor Mac Cawley, \u0026ldquo;On behalf of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, we thank the Georgia Institute of Technology \u0026ndash; \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.scl.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003ESupply Chain \u0026amp; Logistics Institute(SCL)\u003C\/a\u003E for hosting our graduate students during their recent visit in May. It was a great program for our Chilean group. The students gained many insights on U.S. practices and culture. The students really enjoyed their time in Atlanta and Savannah and valued the visits to the companies.\u0026nbsp;They were impressed by the presentations, the\u0026nbsp;company tours, the Q\u0026amp;A,\u0026nbsp;and the passion for each organization mission.\u0026nbsp;They enjoyed the welcoming hospitality throughout the visit. It was an excellent opportunity to share and to develop talent. The trip was a complete success.
