  <title><![CDATA[Volcanic ‘Super-Eruptions’ Need Deep Magma Reservoirs]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>There are two supervolcanos within the U.S., the most famous one underneath&nbsp;Yellowstone National Park. If any of these erupt,&nbsp;all that ash and dust in the atmosphere could be catastrophic for Earth&#39;s climate. Fortunately,&nbsp;supervolcano eruptions are few and far between, which is why scientists are trying to learn as much as they can now about why they&#39;re so rare.&nbsp;&nbsp;A new <a href="http://www.nature.com/ngeo/journal/v10/n6/full/ngeo2959.html#affil-auth">study </a>published in Nature Geoscience by a team including School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences professor <a href="http://www.eas.gatech.edu/people/Josef_Dufek">Josef Dufek</a> theorizes that supervolcanos rely on very&nbsp;deep&nbsp;magma reservoirs that can take millions of years to form.&nbsp;</p>
