{"592816":{"#nid":"592816","#data":{"type":"news","title":"New Leave of Absence Policy for Students","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EStudents in \u003Cem\u003Egood academic standing\u003C\/em\u003E may be eligible for an approved leave of absence.\u0026nbsp; If you are a student\u0026nbsp;who, for reasons beyond your\u0026nbsp;control, needs to interrupt your\u0026nbsp;enrollment for at least two (but no more than seven) semesters, it may be appropriate for you\u0026nbsp;to apply for a Leave of Absence.\u0026nbsp; Reasons for approval include required military service, for example.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EStudents on approved Leave of Absence will not have to apply for re-admission, and can retain their GT email account during the approved absence.\u0026nbsp; The Leave of Absence cannot be approved retroactively, so students must plan to apply for Leave to be in effect for a future term.\u0026nbsp; Students must also file a Return from Leave of Absence form in order to notify the Registrar\u0026rsquo;s Office to reactive the student record for re-entry.\u0026nbsp; Students on academic drop, suspension, or who have been expelled for disciplinary reasons are not eligible to apply for the Leave.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EFor full details, see the 2017-18 catalog\u003C\/strong\u003E (B.
