The research\u0026nbsp;from \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.eas.gatech.edu\/people\/Carol_Paty\u0022\u003ECarol Paty\u003C\/a\u003E, associate professor in the\u0026nbsp;School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and EAS graduate student \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.eas.gatech.edu\/people\/Xin_Cao\u0022\u003EXin Cao\u003C\/a\u003E, relied on 1986 Voyager 2 flyby data. Paty and Cao\u0026nbsp;discovered a magnetosphere\u0026nbsp;that opens and closes at intervals, allowing solar winds to bombard the planet at times.\u0026nbsp;NASA is currently considering new missions that could include revisiting Uranus.
