The Duke D.C. Summer Institute offers short courses taught by Duke Law faculty on topics of a broad interest to college and graduate students, as well as professionals working in D.C. The institute is designed for individuals considering law school or careers in the public sector and others interested in how law shapes public policy and regulation in the United States.

Evening courses and events offered in July 2018 will introduce students to legal reasoning and how to “think like a lawyer,” constitutional law and the U.S. Supreme Court, and the variety of career paths available in the modern legal profession.

The Cornell University Pre-Law Program in New York City

The Cornell University Prelaw Program is a 4-credit course beginning in June 2018, Introduction to the American Legal System taught using the Socratic method used in most law schools. The program offers an opportunity to participate in a selective internship at a law firm or legal department. Internships are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The program is designed for college undergraduates who will complete  their sophomore year or higher by June 2018 or for college graduates.
