{"601850":{"#nid":"601850","#data":{"type":"news","title":"2 Major Construction Projects Get Started This Semester","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EDuring the next two years, the Northwest sector of campus is going to see a dramatic transformation.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThis month, work will begin on the Campus Safety Building, the new home for the Georgia Tech Police Department that will take shape at the corner of Hemphill Avenue and 10th Street.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWork is also set to begin on \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/livingbuilding.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EThe Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design\u003C\/a\u003E. In the coming weeks, site work will begin for the project that is set to rise from a surface parking lot at the corner of State Street and Ferst Drive.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWithin the next six months, work will also begin at the Dalney deck and office building on Dalney Street, near the intersection with Greenfield Street.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe campus community can expect some near-term construction impacts. Both the Campus Safety Building and Kendeda projects will be active within the next two weeks. Fencing will be erected at the Kendeda site, beginning Feb. 6. Site fencing will include sections of surface lots within the project boundary. \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOn Dalney Street, through traffic to Ferst Drive will be closed where it passes through the Kendeda project site.
