Wayne Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons. Twenty\u0026nbsp;teams of high school students competed in 23 age-related events emphasizing STEM applications.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe teams represented high schools from the Metro Atlanta area. They\u0026nbsp;competed in events on a wide range of topics, including anatomy and physiology, herpetology, astronomy, thermodynamics, material science, forensics, Fermi questions, and experimental design.\u0026nbsp;The top-three teams received trophies; The top two teams also received plaques.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAll winning teams\u0026nbsp;will advance from regional to state to national competitions:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EFirst place: Gwinnett School of Math, Science, and Technology Team 1\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003ESecond place: Walton High School Team 1\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EThird place: Gwinnett School of Math, Science, and Technology Team 2\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EFourth place: Walton High School Team 2\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003EFifth place: Wheeler High School Team 1\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;The competing teams were absolutely phenomenal,\u0026quot; Tournament Director Tiarra Moore said. \u0026quot;I had a blast viewing the competition and watching the excitement on students\u0026#39; faces when they received their awards.
