{"602495":{"#nid":"602495","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Faculty Michael Elliott and Nestor Garza Honored with  Lincoln Institute of Land Policy Case Study Awards","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003ESchool of City and Regional Planning Associate Professor Michael Elliott and Visiting Professor Nestor Garza were both honored with Lincoln Institute of Land Policy Case Study Awards.\u0026nbsp;There were 15 other winners nationally in response to more than 100 entries.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EElliott\u0026rsquo;s case, \u0026ldquo;Women\u0026#39;s Action towards Climate Resilience for Urban Poor in South Asia,\u0026rdquo; focuses on the climate resilience capacity of women from slum communities in seven cities of South Asia to take the lead in action against climate risks.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Lincoln Institute\u0026#39;s efforts to build a digital case library for sharing land policy knowledge across the globe is to be commended,\u0026rdquo; said Elliott. \u0026ldquo;Cases provide rich descriptions and allow for nuanced understanding of the context, policies and actions utilized to enhance community wellbeing.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026quot;In the past\u0026nbsp;I have had a relatively strong association with the Latin American division of The Lincoln Institute. Now that I am at the USA, this activity\u0026nbsp;goes in the line of also establishing an association with the Headquarters,\u0026rdquo; said Garza.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EGarza\u0026rsquo;s case study was on, \u0026ldquo;\u003Cem\u003EImplementation and Effects of Land Value Capture in Bogot\u0026aacute;, Colombia\u003C\/em\u003E\u003Cem\u003E.\u003C\/em\u003E\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWinning projects received funding of $1,000 and will become part of the Lincoln Institute\u0026rsquo;s first digital case library.
