{"616422":{"#nid":"616422","#data":{"type":"news","title":"retroTECH joins software preservation effort","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThis summer, the Georgia Tech Library\u0026rsquo;s \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/retrotech.library.gatech.edu\/\u0022\u003EretroTECH\u003C\/a\u003E program will join top universities and museums in a groundbreaking effort to preserve culturally important computing through the \u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.softwarepreservationnetwork.org\/about\/\u0022\u003ESoftware Preservation Network\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe program,\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/www.softwarepreservationnetwork.org\/fcop\/\u0022\u003E Fostering a Community of Practice: Software Preservation in Libraries and Archives\u003C\/a\u003E, aims to empower librarians, archivists and curators to address the key challenges to providing long-term access to software-dependent cultural heritage. Work kicks off in June, with projects ending in November 2019.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EFor their part, the Tech Librarians will bring a new service, retroTECH Online, to fruition.
