{"616882":{"#nid":"616882","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Georgia Tech Cybersecurity Students Attend CyberCorps Symposium and Job Fair","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EOn January 7-8, Georgia Institute of Technology students attended the annual\u0026nbsp;National Science Foundation (NSF) CyberCorps Symposium and Job Fair in Washington, D.C.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESeymour Goodman, regents professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, led the\u0026nbsp;students to the annual cybersecurity symposium, which\u0026nbsp;he has done for previous groups of Georgia Tech students\u0026nbsp;since 2003.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe students who attended had the\u0026nbsp;opportunity to meet with over 90 federal and state agencies, national labs, and federally funded research and development centers\u0026nbsp;actively recruiting for large numbers of new or open paid internships and\u0026nbsp;permanent positions in the area of cybersecurity. \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EStudents attending the job fair are part of \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.iisp.gatech.edu\/cybercorps-scholarship-service\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech\u0026nbsp;CyberCorps Scholarship for Service\u003C\/a\u003E, a program which provides tuition and a\u0026nbsp;stipend to students in exchange for commitment to serve the U.S. Government in\u0026nbsp;cybersecurity after graduation. The\u0026nbsp;scholarship also provides internship\u0026nbsp;opportunities, professional development, and employment placement assistance.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EA number of these very generous NSF 2-3 year scholarships will be available this coming fall semester.
