{"617450":{"#nid":"617450","#data":{"type":"news","title":"More Than 120 Students Participate in Interactivity@GT 2019","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EGeorgia Tech hosted its annual Interactivity event on Jan. 31 in the Historic Academy of Medicine.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMore than 120 students and representatives from 61 companies participated in the annual showcase and job fair for graduate students enrolled in one of three master\u0026rsquo;s programs at Georgia Tech \u0026ndash; M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction, M.S. in Digital Media, and Master of Industrial Design.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ENew this year, Interactivity, which is presented by the GVU Center and sponsored by Mailchimp, included a traditional job fair. Eighteen companies participated in the fair, which was focused specifically on user experience-related jobs.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAs in past years, Interactivity kicked off with a morning poster session for students to share research projects with visiting industry partners. After lunch, students took part in \u0026ldquo;one-minute madness,\u0026rdquo; an opportunity for each student to take the stage and give a one-minute elevator pitch about themselves, their interests, and their work.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Interactivity is unique because it provides a one-stop shop for companies looking for world-class HCI and UX talent,\u0026rdquo; said \u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.ic.gatech.edu\/people\/richard-henneman\u0022\u003EDick Henneman\u003C\/a\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003E, a professor of the practice in the School of Interactive Computing and the Director of the MS-HCI program. \u0026ldquo;We experimented this year by including a traditional career fair for our MS-HCI, MID, and MSDM students. Judging by the reaction from both students and company recruiters, it was a huge hit that will continue in the future.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EInteractivity has proven successful over the years for students looking to enter industry as a STEM professional.
