Egerstedt is being honored for his work on multi-robot systems and for his previous role as the executive director for the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (IRIM) at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He and his fellow honorees will be recognized at an official ceremony on October 25, 2019 in Stockholm, Sweden.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) is an independent academy whose mission is \u0026ldquo;\u0026hellip;to promote the engineering and economic sciences and the advancement of business and industry for the benefit of society.\u0026rdquo; IVA has 1,300 elected Swedish and international members. They are decision-makers, experts, and researchers from the private sector, academia, and public administration. King Carl XVI Gustaf is the patron of the organization and participates in IVA\u0026rsquo;s activities.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EEgerstedt is the Steve W. Chaddick School Chair of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Georgia Tech, and he has been a member of the ECE faculty since 2001.\u0026nbsp;He holds secondary appointments in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Interactive Computing, and the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EEgerstedt is a Fellow of the IEEE, and has received numerous teaching and research awards, including the Ragazzini Award from the American Automatic Control Council, the Outstanding Doctoral Advisor Award and the Eta Kappa Nu Outstanding Teacher Award from Georgia Tech, and the Alumni of the Year Award from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n","summary":null,"format":"limited_html"}],"field_subtitle":"","field_summary":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EMagnus Egerstedt has been elected as a Foreign Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n","format":"limited_html"}],"field_summary_sentence":[{"value":"Magnus Egerstedt has been elected as a Foreign Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
