Synergies Realized: OIT and ITG Unify to Form Georgia Tech IT

ATLANTA – The convergence of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and Campus Services Information Technology Group (ITG) has culminated in the formation of Georgia Tech Information Technology or simply, Georgia Tech IT. Georgia Tech IT is the Institute’s central IT organization – delivering enterprise technology solutions and services that enable transformative teaching, learning, research, and service delivery at Georgia Tech.

The organization is comprised of the Office of the CIO and seven units: Cyber Security, Communications, Digital Business, Governance & Portfolio Management, Infrastructure & Foundational Technologies, Research & Digital Learning, and Technology Business Administration. CIO priorities and unit business goals for Fiscal Year 2020 are available online at b.gatech.edu/ITPriorities.

Rebranding efforts are underway and will include a new visual identity, web presence, and list of priorities that demonstrate the Georgia Tech IT’s commitment to advancing Institute strategy through a rigorous technology agenda. Georgia Tech IT has also relocated to the new Coda building, planting the organization directly inside of Midtown Atlanta’s innovation hub and presenting opportunities to collaborate with partners across the Georgia Tech research and academic communities as well as established industry leaders. Additionally, Georgia Tech IT has launched engagements to develop a new technology plan and operating model, which will inform future technology priorities at Georgia Tech.

Visit www.oit.gatech.edu for a timeline of rebranding activities or email it@gatech.edu for more information.
