  <title><![CDATA[Ivan Allen Digital Archive VIP Team]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>The project brings together students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to work on frameworks for community and digital archives.&nbsp;Depending on interests and aptitudes, students will be asked to develop relationships with local communities, design archives that prioritize the wants and needs of these communities, architect and implement technical solutions that help communities discover and explore their histories, and help with the analysis of the archives and systems as they are assembled.</p>

<p>Fall 2019 work will include:</p>

<ul>
	<li>Frontend application design and extracted entity data wrangling for the Mayor Ivan Allen Digital Archive (https://dilac.iac.gatech.edu/node/28)</li>
	<li>Planning and execution of a community archives outreach and digitization day event in the Grove Park neighborhood of Atlanta (https://groveparkfoundation.org)</li>
</ul>

<p>Open to all majors.&nbsp;Experience with or willingness to learn archival practices, community engagement, social and local history, natural language processing, social network analysis, machine/deep learning, digital design (UI/UX).</p>
