Sonic Generator will perform Leroux\u0027s \u003Cstrong\u003EVoi(Rex)\u003C\/strong\u003E (2002), featuring guest soprano \u003Cstrong\u003EDonatienne Michel-Dansac\u003C\/strong\u003E. The music uses poetry by \u003Cstrong\u003ELin Delpierre \u003C\/strong\u003Enot only as the text for the work, but also to guide rhythmic and melodic development and electronic spatialization of sounds.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EThe concert also features works by two other composers associated with IRCAM. \u003Cstrong\u003EKaija Saariaho\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0027s \u003Cstrong\u003ENoaNoa\u003C\/strong\u003E (1992), for flute and live electronics, was one of the first works at IRCAM to utilize the center\u0027s revolutionary real-time audio processing technologies. \u003Cstrong\u003EIs it this?\u003C\/strong\u003E (2001), composed by IRCAM-trained composer \u003Cstrong\u003EPierre Jodlowski\u003C\/strong\u003E, combines the acoustic sounds of bass clarinet, violin, and percussion with real-time audio and video processing to create a dynamic, theatrical performance.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ESonic Generator\u003C\/strong\u003E, Georgia Tech\u0027s chamber music ensemble-in-residence, explores the ways in which technology can transform how we create, perform and listen to music. The ensemble, comprised of some of the top classical musicians in Atlanta, works closely with Georgia Tech faculty in the GVU Center and the Center for Music Technology to present concerts that bring cutting-edge technologies to the world of contemporary classical music.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003ESonic Generator is sponsored by the \u003Cstrong\u003EGVU Center\u003C\/strong\u003E, which seeks to advance the state of the art of the interaction between people, computing machines and information. The concert series is organized in collaboration with the \u003Cstrong\u003ECenter for Music Technology\u003C\/strong\u003E and the \u003Cstrong\u003ESchool of Music\u003C\/strong\u003E in the \u003Cstrong\u003ECollege of Architecture\u003C\/strong\u003E. These entities champion advancements in creativity, expression, and\nhuman-computer interaction through research and education at Georgia Tech.\nSonic Generator\u0027s season is also supported by the \u003Cstrong\u003EAaron Copland Fund for music\u003C\/strong\u003E.
