This year\u0026#39;s forum\u0026nbsp;focused\u0026nbsp;on\u0026nbsp;three distinct themes:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat Drives Innovation: Nature or Nurture?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ENew and Traditional Careers\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EEntrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence (AI)\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThis year was also notable as it was the first iteration to\u0026nbsp;include\u0026nbsp;targeted corporate meetings\u0026nbsp;with representatives from \u003Cstrong\u003EAdidas, BMW, General Electric, Google, IBM, Siemens\u003C\/strong\u003E, and the \u003Cstrong\u003EState of Georgia\u0026rsquo;s Europe Office\u003C\/strong\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe first two panels of the day centered on the global reach of Georgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s alumni entrepreneurship and the role that Artificial Intelligence plays driving industries of the future. Stenport closed the forum with a special presentation entitled \u0026ldquo;The University of the 21st\u0026nbsp;Century and Languages at Georgia Tech.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;I represented the Center for 21st Century Universities (C21U), \u003Cstrong\u003Ethe Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts\u003C\/strong\u003E, and the School of Modern Languages and spoke about a number of educational innovations that integrate priorities in the Creating the Next in Education Commission\u0026rsquo;s emphasis on lifelong learning, whole person-skills, and the principles of T-shaped professionals, who demonstrate deep expertise in a technical field while simultaneously leveraging cross-communication and leadership\u0026nbsp;competencies,\u0026rdquo;\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003EStenport\u003C\/strong\u003E said.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EShe also highlighted the School of Modern Languages\u0026rsquo;\u0026nbsp;recent innovative graduate programs, such as the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/modlangs.gatech.edu\/ms-degrees\/ms-gmc\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EMaster of Science in Global Media and Cultures\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;and the\u003Cstrong\u003E \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/modlangs.gatech.edu\/ms-degrees\/ms-alis\u0022\u003EMaster of Science in Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies\u003C\/a\u003E\u003C\/strong\u003E, in addition to its international summer offerings in Europe such as\u0026nbsp;the \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/modlangs.gatech.edu\/study-abroad\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ELanguages for Business and Technology\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;in Germany, France, and Spain.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhile the focus on Artificial Intelligence grounded the day\u0026rsquo;s entrepreneurial conversations in an explicitly technological context, Stenport highlighted the role that language and the humanities play in fostering global communication competencies.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;Humanities skills are critical to successful entrepreneurship as well as Artificial Intelligence. For instance, the School\u0026rsquo;s collaboration with \u003Cstrong\u003EGeorgia Tech Lorraine-Metz\u003C\/strong\u003E in for a semester-long\u0026nbsp;immersive sustainability-oriented program offered in French and in partnership with \u003Cstrong\u003EServe-Learn-Sustain\u003C\/strong\u003E and the \u003Cstrong\u003ESchool of Modern Languages\u0026rsquo;s French\u003C\/strong\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003Eprogram\u003C\/strong\u003E, which includes both community-based engagements and projects, as well as a course that is part of Georgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s \u003Cstrong\u003ECREATE-X\u003C\/strong\u003E entrepreneurship program.
