Dr. Solis was honored for his contributions to the personal growth and \nprofessional advancement of countless young engineers, and for pioneering critical research programs that have enhanced the academic capacity at the Universidad \nTechnol\u00f3gica de Panam\u00e1 and the national scientific community. \u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe McDonald Mentoring Award, established in 2007, recognizes the outstanding mentoring \nof other professionals by an engineer in industry, government, education or private practice. Candidates must have made a significant contribution as a mentor \nand engineering advocate within the past five years, as well as a member of ASME or another International Congress of Mechanical Engineering Societies (ICOMES) \nmember society.
